We're renting for the 1st time in Mexico (Cancun) and want to know what you all suggest as far as insurance. I never take ins. when renting in the states because of coverage from using my cc as well as business ins coverage. This is a personal trip so the business ins. is out. Is Visa/MC coverage good enough in Mexico. I've been told if you don't have "Mexican ins." and you're in any kind of accident, they can hold you in jail until they determine who is at fault. Any truth to that? What do the rest of you do if renting there on personal time. Thanks!
