The front desk agent explained that this is the policy they have incorporated at their hotel. As outlined in section 4.1.c.ii. of our Loyalty Program Terms & Conditions, "Local policy may prevail over Loyalty Program standards at Participating Properties, and some Elite membership benefits may not be available at some locations."
I can see such language in the Ts&Cs to deal with various local laws and ordinances. For example, a hotel somewhere could be be subject to local restrictions on alcohol discounts, and might not be able to honor a "free" F&B credit toward alcohol.
But using "local policy" as the excuse to refuse honoring the credit toward breakfast?
That's just spitting in the face of Platinum Elite (and above) members!
The good news is that FlyerTalk now gets very few complaints about Courtyard properties that fail to honor the daily $10 USD F&B credit for the Platinum Elite (and above) member +1.
