Still / Sparkling Water
Did a search but surprisingly (or I'm just bad at this) did not find a thread discussing this.
Would you order Still or Sparkling water when "normal" (free) water is available ?
Most high end restaurants would offer this option as part of the bill, but anything less than a Michelin Star would tend to bottled water on as an un-named extra. It's something I find petty, especially when it's the first thing the wait staff ask when passing out the menus.
Probably sounding cheap here, but personally I'd ask the charges for the water as I'd prefer to know beforehand if it's complimentary or otherwise. Definitely would go for sparkling if it's part of the bill otherwise just plain "normal" water is fine.
Rather place the "savings" from the water into the tip than buying something I do not value ?
