The 5K reward for TWIN? Is there any chance of upgraded room or they are pretty strict you get what you paid for? Debating to change to a paid rate for better selection while I paid only 5k per night I don't want to sleep in a room which I Feel like I paid 5k a night.
They offer a 1/2 board or Full board option. The reports are food is not extremely great so curious does anyone know the a-l-c rates for a meal? Is it worth an extra $21 in rate or pay as I go or after one night I'd prefer to eat off the property?
Hi
I've spent quite a few stays here over the past three years . As a Hilton Diamond you will usually at least get a premium renovated room . There's not a lot above this . Diplomatic suites are slightly larger junior suites but the way they have renovated them makes them feel really cramped. The corner suites are still open plan, they do have a huge bathroom mind ! However the balcony is tiny and all have a connecting door which I really dislike ! That only leaves the 2 royal suites which are real separated suites with jacuzzi . Ive had these on 2 or 3 occasions but only on 1 night stays so its unlikely on a longer stay . As for food this is largely a tourist all Inclusive property in Egypt so lower your Expectations ! On one 1 night stays I find that A la carte is the best option . The Italian restaurant being my preferred food . Room service is around $5 to $15 per person so will not break the bank .
Do also consider the Hilton Hurghada Plaza . Its newly renovated was 5K points but 20K points minimum now and I have always been given a suite on 8+ one night stays . The rooms are bright and most have an amazing sea view . Food is more expensive and not massively better than the other hotel . Neither hotel is best placed for a nice evening stroll . Hilton resort is slightly better for this .
Unless youre adamant on using the 5K Hilton rate . I advise do not stay in Hurghada . Look up the road (20KM) to El Gouna and find a magical paradise thats far removed from "usual Egypt " You will not regret it !! No Hilton property yet though a Doubletree is in the pipeline . There is a Sheraton and Movenpick and about 18 other options . YMMV
