UA is damned if they do and damned if they don't. If they operate flights, they're not "on the forefront of taking action." If they cancel flights, they're "greedy" for messing up people's travel plans and/or possibly stranding them thousands of miles from home just because of low demand.
At this point, there are disruptions everywhere, so being "on the forefront" would basically amount to closing up shop.
With the most recent announcements out of Italy, though, I wouldn't be surprised if these flights got cancelled.
