I don't question your right to ask questions or make comments. I also want to preserve my right to be quoted correctly and not to have words put into my mouth or to post without being insulted in response as you seem to feel OK to do. Yes, I do think that it is strange to ask if anyone can support my view - my view won't change regardless what people write on Tripadvisor or here. If you wanted to ask what others thought of the restaurant you could have done that; but my view does not need validation or support. Perhaps I should not be assigning ratings to restaurants as our tastes differ and what I like may not be necessarily what you or others like. I am of a very high opinion of the restaurant at the Hilton Edinburgh Carlton, and as I said before I have been to many restaurants in the city and have a basis to compare. Also, I assign no particular value to the things I read on Tripadvisor apart from looking at the pictures as it is mostly an outlet for those who suffered some kind of a service failure and it is skewed towards negative comments as disgruntled people need an outlet to complaint. So, a 3.5 star rating will not tell me much but my personal experience on more than one occasion would. Perhaps you should try it out next time you stay there to to make our own mind.
