One concern I do have with these random acts of lounge access is what would happen if the lounge dragon could tell that I’m doing this? Technically I am giving this as a gift to someone for no consideration so there is no bartering going on. Could I lose lounge access pricelieges or worse UA Gold status over something like this? It reminds me of the old adage no good deed goes unpunished.

would appreciate to hear fellow FTers thoughts on this.

Safe Travels,

Hi James, I've been an elite FF for about 8 years and my first lounge experience was as a guest by my colleague into the KLM lounge in Amsterdam. I've been paying it forward ever since and guesting random "strangers" who weren't boarding within the hour (obvious reasons). Initially, many of my guests were Americans on active military duty until the US airlines started to comp them as well. I enjoy guesting those whom I believe would probably never have the opportunity to experience an airport lounge ... students, elderly, mothers with a child and visible minorities. After a few years, I discovered that I could "guest" in more than one especially at the larger airports with lounges in different terminals. This year, I acquired Priority Pass access through my new credit card, so now I am offering meals as well in addition to access to other lounges. Mothers with a young child and passengers whose flights were delayed 6 - 10 hours were really appreciative which acknowledged that kind gestures are always worthwhile. Unfortunately, this is probably my final year as a FF, so I hope you can do / continue this. BTW: I'm James as well. Good luck !
