Nice runs. On my ORD-LAX-ANC-PDX-LAX-SEA-YLW starting March 31st we will overnight in LAX on April 1st. For that evening, I booked my first ever Saver fare. LAX-LAS-LAX. My partner had a $25 voucher for a Premium Seat downgrade. That covered the return base fare for the both of us. (actually didn't use the full $25 value) The taxes were $14.60 each so $29.20 return for the two of us.

I had $53.20 in my wallet when AS graciously opened up an R bucket seat (L was cheapest available) for me on an Itinerary change citing "we would have done a SDC for you anyway." (same o/d but dropped an AA codeshare segment). That paid the taxes.

We will each earn 1500 EQM, I will earn 2250 RDM and my Partner 2000 RDM and we will have time for dinner in Vegas.

It really is infortunate that this is possible.
