I tend to buy these tickets just after midnight, which gives me the maximum time because often the OTAs say you can only cancel within 24 hours on the same date as purchase.
If you find yourself frequently needing to cancel a ticket within 24 hours, then it sounds to me like you would make life much easier for yourself if, rather than booking immediately, you just wait until the following day. From what you've stated, you have already delayed your purchase until just after midnight. Why not just wait until more of that new day has elapsed? If your rehearsal has been rescheduled, then you have saved yourself the hassle of cancelling and rebooking.

If you're worried about price rises within that 24 hour period (though it seems highly unlikely that, having already waited until after the following midnight when most price rises go into effect, your ticket would rise further in price by waiting to book later that same day), perhaps using the "Time to Think" option would make sense in your personal circumstances?
