The only "rule" I know of is you can't stand in the front galley, because obviously the cockpit is there (although I've stayed there and chatted for a bit when the FA's have initiated conversation). I thought the rear galley was fair game though, unless they were in the middle of service or something. With the amount of FA's in this countries you're going to get many who think they are God and that they can make up new rules/policies on their own.
