For BA Mile bookings mileage is calculated from the start point to the end point and ignores the connection e.g EDI-HKG not EDI-LHR-HKG. Using the "Great Circle Mapper" I get EDI-HKG as 5932 miles and EDI-LHR-HKG as 6299.
