I dont know about the transfer part but I have noticed the dissapearing of seats. I am having a friendly chat with the EC at the moment about it. I have arranged a trip for 10 to Cape Town in Feb. 8 of them are paying for club and wt+. I chose the dates so I could get to miles seats in First. As I am such a nice person i booked all of their before mine and then got caught up for a day in real work. Now I have come to boof mine the dates have gone. ALL the dates around the correct one have gone.
On ITN I can see that their has been no additional seats sold on these flight in F so have they just pulled them

I have also tried to book to F tickets with miles to HKG in September for our wedding anniversery, exactly the same. Last week seats this week no seats. The same on SFO.

My CHAT with them id going along the lines of hey I know I want to trouble you with letting me spend 600,000 miles this year + the 300,000 used for MIA in may, but can I ever get a seat. Their reply.... NO. My reply Thanks alot.

I am getting so fed up with this that it is not just putting me of the EC it is putting me of travel. 10 great years of it and penny pinching is starting to gripe.

If I cant get a resolution this week you never know I may do something nice like post a new topic with the tittle "anybody want 600,000 miles for free", all I would want it a statement of no more than 100 words why you are the person that needs them.

Thats my rant and rave over with for the moment
