You can dream, but Accor is not going to do anything about it. Nobody will. The practise is well engrained, and in particular in NYC. The fees don't make the hotels less competitive, because it's the just norm for hotels there. If Accor were to stop charging those fees, they would only hurt themselves, since they'd lose revenue with little increase in business to offset it. If they stopped the charges and raised the room rates to make up for it, then they also put themselves at a disadvantage with the travellers who are only comparing advertised room rates. If a hotel felt that by removing the resort fees that they would generate enough customer goodwill to offset the revenue loss, surely they would have already done it by now. Those charges aren't going anywhere. No hotel chain is about to lead that charge, and certainly not Accor in that market.
