Ha! I got the same impersonal response. Word for word.
I told them in my email that I *wasn't* begrudging them the fee, that I recognized it as a CODB. But I asked them to look into making changes to the Web site to allow all expert-level users to book in specific fare classes, complete book-and-holds for all users (so we can still use things like Entertainment book coupons and $25 vouchers), fix the code-share problem, etc.
It's obvious they didn't even read my letter. They just saw ``new $5 fee'' in the first sentence and dashed off their one-size-fits-all scripted corporate response.
I emailed them back, asking them to re-read my letter and respond specifically to it. We'll see...
