We never saw any debris. Our patio furniture was cleaned daily. The housekeep, wrote nice notes, in English, everyday to us. We found the food at the hotels restaurants to be outstanding and reasonable priced. We booked 6 tours from the hotel's concierge ,Diego, who has a wealth of knowledge, and the prices were the same or cheaper than the travel agencies in town. The hotel's Executive Director, Ms. Franco, is the best hotel executive we have ever met. She over sees an amazing staff and property. In fact, when we returned, I wrote a email to Marriott's executive management suggesting that they use her to train their other resort executives and personnel. You can see I love this resort, and last week, I made another reservation for next year.
Just posting our experience. I will say that it is kind of funny that you posted a second time on Tripadvisor to refute my review even though you've not stayed there since your original review last year.
There are a number of Tripadvisor reviews that mention the lack of English speaking staff and slow service (for both the resort and restaurants). So I'm not the only one with that observation. I would agree that many things are subjective when staying at a hotel, which is why I posted photos of the issues. The resort's management blames the issues on the pollution of the bay, but it would require them little to no extra resources to send one person each morning to make a sweep of the property for trash.
My wife is from Lima and grew up spending her summers in Paracas three houses down from the resort and has visited the property numerous times throughout the years. She pointed out that the level of service isn't what it once use to be. She said that the rooms and property overall have improved since the resort was bought out years ago. Though, the property seems to struggle with maintaining areas near the bay due to the pollution and that (in her opinion) Pervuian residents tend to throw their trash on the ground. We still found the use of two free night certificates here a good value. In the future we'd probably consider the La Hacienda Bahia Paracas as a majority of our friends and family members that reside in Lima say they prefer it over the Hotel Paracas.
I will say that I'd probably visit Paracas sooner rather than later as there are some growing issues in the area. The tourism industry is unregulated and the lack of regulation seems to be causing issues with the Ballestas Islands. The tour boats are increasing in numbers and we did see some aggression between the boat drivers. I've read that the boats are having a negative impact on the wildlife on the islands. Paracas Bay is noticeably contaminated (confirmed by Hotel Paracas management). I've been told that there is a growing movement on social media in Peru to start protests about the negative effects large industry is having on the Bay and on the Reserve.
