Singapore
Airlines sent us an email and text that they cancelled our
flight from Milan to Singapore for mid-May. Yes, I realize the Singapore government is not allowing
flights from Milan, but the government didn't say until mid-May. Point being... Singapore cancelled for "operational purposes" as they stated in the email and text... probably for scheduling/cancellations/or getting ahead of the curve... and I get that, and accept it.
Here's the Limbo we are in. Our ticket is Business Lite, "non-refundable", but changeable for a fee. Singapore
Airlines is offering waivers on changes and cancellations, but only on
flights through 30 April. Our
flight was in mid-May. When I go into the website... they still have the
flight as if it's happening!!! I can't change or get a refund without paying a fee... BUT according the email it's been CANCELLED.
I tried calling, but they only accept phone calls if your
flight is 7 days or less away. I get the fact they are busy... but again... they cancelled the
flight... one would think they would allow me to start planning on my terms, or allow me to get a refund so I can figure what I want to do.
It's almost like they are saying... we cancelled your
flight... now just sit there and wait till we get around to it.
I totally get the chaos they are facing, but this is wrong... all they have to do is tag the
flight as cancelled on their website to allow changes and refunds. Thats not hard to do.
I'm thinking to call anyways... put in my hours on hold, plead that while my
flight isn't till May, I can't sit around at wait till then and see what happens... LIMBO for now.
Anyone in the same boat or been in this situation?
