It seemed pretty obvious from the tone and confidence of the initial post that the OP had a very clear insider's view of the situation. The language was measured and devoid of the florid outrage we sometimes see in negative reports. And, of course, it would be a silly story to fabricate: one simple for our own insiders to check.

So the initial forensic flurry to rubbish criticism of the airline was disheartening. The ridicule discourages new posters from voicing anything critical of BA.

I think most of us recognise, maybe sometimes grudgingly, that BA's a fine airline: but when things go wrong it's good to hear about them.
