Part 2: The Resort
As mentioned in my previous post we did not see the spa. It might be worth checking out as the photos on Tripadvisor look decent. February is within peak summer season. We noticed a marine layer each morning that burned off by 9 or 10am and then returned around 2 or 3pm.
For some reason we were under the impression that the smaller pool was an adults pool, but it was filled with kids throughout the day. It's a heated pool and has a lot of places to sit in the water. Drink prices are what you'd expect at a western resort. I believe they will allow you to bring your own alcohol, but after the first bottle may charge a corkage fee.
Cabanas are first come first serve, but you can pay an additional fee to reserve a cabana for the day. A majority of the cabanas were available during peak season weekdays.
There is a bar near the small pool with a lot of indoor and outdoor seating.
Around 11am they started demolishing tile. I'm not sure why they couldn't do this very early morning before guests were around as there was no motorized machine to make noise. When I asked the GM he said they had to do it ASAP as there was a safety issue. Seems like they were creating more of a safety issue..
