I got the vouchers through LH but i used some earlier this year to Bangkok with Austrian Airlines and they upgraded me from a cheap ticket with no problems. But now i was reading all this on the forum i dont know what to believe. Will check out the back of the vouchers for sure. These vouchers were the free ones we got if you were a gold card holder and living in the UK from Star Alliance back in February. I used the voucher twice for the outbound and inbound with Austrian Airlines and they said nothing much at all about the class of fare i was on. my flight was 450 pounds from LHR to BKK via VIE. I have just double checked and the flight i had earlier this year to Bangkok with Austrian airlines was in Q class.

Did you get the vouchers thru LH or another Star carrier...??
If it was LH, which gave you SEN status, then you may be able/willing to use these alternative options:
1. you could use 2 e-vouchers to upgrade the MUC-BKK sector.
2. Alternatively, you may spend 65000 LH award miles to upgrade from Q class to Business class.
