To Drink or Not to Drink

Have been thinking about this for a while now. Started doing long-hauls in my mid-20's and always availed of the alcohol on offer to counter boredom/enhanvce sleep. Well that has not changed dramatically but I find that after flights I feel as though I have been on a week long bender, even though I may only have drank 4-5 glasses of champagne/wine/enter your tipple as appropriate.

Anyway I am flying to the far-east (day time trip) in a couple of weeks and toying with the idea of abstaining as a sort of experiment. I must say I enjoy a drink as I always travel alone and boredom/lack of sleep is my biggest enemy.

Can anyone shed any light?
