One question, the only upgrade options offered from our standard WV are $135++ for a Deluxe Beach Villa, $395++ for a Grand Water Villa, or $495++ for a Deluxe Water Villa; what are the chances that these rates come down in the next couple weeks or that a Superior Water Villa becomes available due to lower occupancy/cancellations? Has anyone had success by holding out until closer to arrival to get a better upgrade deal?
When I took my trip last month, I was told by reservation that Superior room is not available during my stay. I checked Hilton web almost daily until my departure ( a few months before my trip) and still no available for entire time I want, only 1 or 2 night here and there. So, depend how long you want to stay in the Superior room, if just a coupe nights, then maybe you will see availability open up again. In my case , there was none.
I read most of these post here, everyone seems to love superior room and choose an upgrade from water villa . However, I had a chance to stay in a deluxe superior during my stay for a few nights. I was told it is similar like the superior room, but I do not like the room design, and after a coupe hour in the room , we moved from the Deluxe Superior to Grand water villa . I guess the standard water villa with sunset view fits me best
I also take a tour at the deluxe beach villa, the room is very beautiful, but we like to see an ocean view from our room more. So, we cancel the upgrade after arrival because I get mosquitoes bite easily and there is a lot of plant surrounding the beach villa room .
If you like the Deluxe Beach Villa and the pricing is good, just takes it now. I do not think the pricing will go down easily. You can take a look at the wiki , there is information about room upgrade cost listed in there.
