Personally I think 2-4-1 are worth what you want them to be worth. Our 'burned' one a few years back was to Rome in CE. It happened to coincide with 6 Nations and we had a fabulous break for next to no Avios with the 2-4-1. Revenue flights were going for nearly a grand each way. In value terms it was £'s but in real terms it was much more. It's not always about the money, the saving or the value; but more about doing something you perhaps wouldn't have done. We (obviously) won the match and the food, the game, the hotel, the experience and of course the weather were all amazing. Win win for us. Had we been a little more organised we would never have allowed a 2-4-1 to be on it's last legs. But thankfully this time it worked perfectly.
