Thanks for the update. Given that elite status guests can eat in the lounge anyway, 650 THB upcharge for the restaurant is still too much and not competitive in this market relative to others such as Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Renaissance, Athenee, etc. which allows guests to choose between lounge and breakfast, which goes above and beyond the rules. As long as Marriott Surawongse sticks to the rules without providing an elaborate breakfast in the lounge such as Marriott Marquis Queen's Park does, it will remain a weakness. For people who do not care much about breakfast it's a non-issue but if you value breakfast when in Bangkok, it remains a sore point that makes me hesitant to come back given the wide range of alternatives in the city.
