When I was first buying I could genuinely detect improvements in features, function, connectivity, sound quality and noise cancelling in every step up I took from basic to the GBP300 mark. After that the gains are minimal. Just IMHO.
Agree - $/£/€ 300 is IMO the point after which returns diminish exponentially. Maybe even 250 if you shop around. And if you’re happy to put up with the previous generation of any of the current contestants, it is even lower (like the mint Sony 1000XM2 I snatched for ¥14.000 in Tokyo)
