Came back here for a six night stay. The staff here continues to be great. I find them to be, without exception, friendly, knowledgeable, and guest-oriented. I was upgraded to a large, two bedroom, two bathroom, suite.
Everything that i said in my earlier review (post 129, upthread) still applies. Breakfast in the M Club is still disappointing; however, we can now purchase the regular breakfast downstairs at the discounted price of, IIRC, 650 baht. They should just give elites, or maybe just top tier elites (if they're worried about cost) the option to eat at either venue. There are certainly enough negative comments about breakfast in this thread that management knows that something needs to be done.
Unlike last time, I spent some time at the pool on several days this visit. The pool area is as described in my earlier review. There is food available, and a friendly and attentive staff is happy to assist. One day some friends dropped by to visit, and we had lunch at the pool. We had a Caesar salad and club sandwich. Both were excellent. The pool is on the roof, and is an infinity pool. There's no vegetation up there, so the pool bakes in the sun all day, with the result that the water can get fairly warm by the afternoon. Perfect for me, just how I like it. I found the pool to be quite small for a hotel of its size, and the number of lounges is also small. I had no problem getting a lounge during the week, but on the weekend it is challenging unless you're there first thing in the morning. The lounges are comfortable, towels plentiful. There are regular towels, and there are special towels designed with a pocket that slips over the top of the lounge, so it doesn't slide down as you sit or recline. Great idea!
This continues to be a great hotel which provides excellent, and, just as important, consistent service, -- you won't be disappointed.
