I don’t think it’s the same. The 333, 767, 7M8, and 320 are totally different airplanes, one can’t truly replace another. The 7M8 replacing 320 is the closest example of replacing on an airframe basis, yet 7M8 can fly TATL while 320 can not. However in terms of total capacity the 7M8 is indeed for replacing 320 plus some extras for expansions. Similarly neither 333 nor 767 is comparable to 7M8, but they do show up on NA chunk routes previously operated, or planned to be operated, by 7M8s. The 330s are indeed planned for future expansion, but if the 7M8s are still flying, AC would have many other options for expansion than purchasing A330s.
