Air Canada come clean and explain your failure here - this will be vitally needed to re-build confidence (but since when does AC take responsibility for much)
Can Air Canada accept any more blame for a perceived lack of due diligence than the other airlines who purchased the Max? Not only WestJet & Sunwing locally, but the likes of Southwest, United, American etc who placed significant orders. I wonder if you feel that an airline should somehow uncover an aspect of a product that the manufacturer seemed to willfully disguise? I'm honestly surprised that in the development phase, at least one customer didn't recognize and/or ask some pointed questions about how attaching much larger engines positioned so far forward might affect the handling characteristics, and what Boeing had done to address any issues. But perhaps AC can be given a bit of a pass in that they really weren't 737 experts, unlike most of the aforementioned airlines.

AC probably doesn't need to be kicked whilst they're down - I'm sure the impact of their decision and the repercussions of the grounding are blatantly clear to all. In hindsight, yes, they opted for a cheap deal as partial compensation for 787 delays, and it bit them firmly in the corporate backside. If any, um, shielded benefits from the manufacturer were included in the deal, I'm sure they've been more than offset by the lack of growth opportunities, which have since morphed into actual losses.
