9-abreast on the 777 is still fairly common in Asia (Thai, Singapore, Korean, Air India are all 3-3-3; ANA has some 3-4-3 and some 2-4-3). Europe - North America is a bit harder but there are still plenty of routes and a few airlines without 777s or 787s such as Lufthansa.
