I do get nostalgic when I read these posts about Umbrian towns (not easy to forget 3 years in Perugia). I used to go often to Bevagna for lunch. One Sunday, around the end of the old town we were walking in a narrow street that was partially blocked by a single large table in its middle, with about 10 people sitting around it and, seemingly, enjoying their lunch in front of a small restaurant. As we were approaching we saw the people standing up, grabbing the table and the chairs and moving them all close to the wall of the building housing the restaurant. A car coming from behind us "eased" through the space made free, and then the people grabbed table and chairs and moved them back to where they were before and continued their lunch!
