This is a question only a true Flyer Talk pro would have any interest in answering! I have both a Platinum Amex and now, due to reading this forum, a Starwood Amex. I keep the Platinum because I do use the travel service and the international business class companion program. I was planning on keeping the platinum but not using it for purchases and instead, using my Starwood for purchases since the Starpoints seem like a much better value than the MR points. However, Platinum offers double points for everyday purchases made at grocery stores, gas stations etc. Does the fact that one can get double points on those purchases justify using the Platinum card for them or should I just use the Starwood for all purchases? I hope my measly dilemma is clear. If not, please let me know. Thanks.
