The hold times on the PLT line can at times be hours long. Is the DM desk that much better? Can you reach an agent quicker during IRROPs? Do they go the extra mile?
Are there any other benefits worth spending the extra dollars to get DM? Can you ever redeem the global or regional certs?
I've always been able to use the GUC's with no trouble. I don't bother with RUC's which are a PITA to use. I gift my wife GM which saves $ on SDC's., CLEAR is free. Extra 2 RDMs per is a minimum of 30,000 RDMs worth at least $300. When I look at the value of all the additional benefits that I actually use, I save money by being a DM over PM. In the end, it depends what it costs you to move up. My gross additional out of pocket is < $3,000 and the value of the GUC's, which I use for a TATL for my wife and myself is greater than that.
Again, It depends on what it costs vs. the value, to you, of what you receive.
