Flew LHR-SFO in Polaris and found the usual bedding on the seat at boarding time. I asked an FA:"Could I get slippers please?" and was told "No, this flight is too short for slippers". I said "Odd, I take this flight a lot and there's always been slippers available." The FA says "No, never on this flight".
At this point, another FA in earshot comes out of the galley and says "This is my line, we don't do slippers on it, it's too short". I said "That's odd, it's printed right here on the menu card" and I show them the card. "Oh, we use the same menus on all the flights, it doesn't apply". With that I thanked them and took my seat. Right after I heard another passenger go through the same thing with them.
About 5 minutes later, the FA stops by with a pair that "was floating around".
So - misinformed FAs or another Polaris "enhancement"?
I’ll go with option 3 - lazy UA FA’s who do the minimum they can to get by.
