I'm looking at both OGG and HNL; haven't figured out the exact itinerary as it will depend on availability and pricing of flights. The options for JFK-LAX-HNL (or vv) are
very limited, maybe one itinerary per day with a premium fare and often a long layover. JFK-ATL-HNL not offered. And no JFK-HNL n/s or DTW-HNL at all in July.
I just booked LAX-YYZ connection via JFK. However not all options LAX-JFK resulted in a premium fare option. Ie one option LAX-JFK-YYZ will show a bookable D1 fare, but another flight LAX-JFK flight connecting to same JFK-YYZ will show as Not Offered. (Not Sold out, but not offered) This only makes me think even more this is a system issue.
Yes, I'm effectively seeing similar. But hard to say if it's a system issue or they only want to allow through traffic on that specific route on certain JFK-LAX flights, for revenue management purposes.
