At this point, another FA in earshot comes out of the galley and says "This is my line, we don't do slippers on it, it's too short". I said "That's odd, it's printed right here on the menu card" and I show them the card. "Oh, we use the same menus on all the flights, it doesn't apply". With that I thanked them and took my seat. Right after I heard another passenger go through the same thing with them.
About 5 minutes later, the FA stops by with a pair that "was floating around".
So - misinformed FAs or another Polaris "enhancement"?
Classic UA inconsistency is my vote, which is a management issue. On a recent LHR-LAX flight, everyone got slippers (not sure if it’s slightly longer than SFO?) The menus are NOT the same on every Polaris flight either. For one thing, they are printed in additional languages, eg German when flying to Germany in Polaris.
