Stay Report - 2/20 - 2/21

Location: The hotel is located about 15 minutes from DFW and about 20 minutes from downtown Dallas in the middle of the Las Colinas Office Park. There are a couple of stops on the Green and Orange Light Rail Lines (Irving Convention Center and Lake College Station) within a mile as well. Next to the hotel is a Brazilian Steakhouse and about a half mile west are a few fast food joints and a pharmacy. Be careful how you exit the hotel as the service road for the Carpenter Freeway is one way and you might get stuck going the wrong direction like I did and have to double back.

Hotel: This is an older Amerisuites Convert though made out of brick which makes it look attractive. There's a small outdoor pool and a well maintained lobby with a two computer business center, breakfast area, bar and snack area and some seating. There were no waits for elevators and the common areas were well maintained.

Check In: Exactly what I want at 11 PM: the quick glance at the license, keys ready to go and a good night stay wished to me

Room: The room is the standard design which I always like. Desk and kitchennette area, separate living room area, bedroom and bathroom. Wifi worked well and there were no noise issues. However, there was one issue. When I went to close my curtains I noticed what looked like flecks of blood on it. This was obviously really gross. I reported the blood and the picture of it to the manager on checkout and she apologized and said she'd give me 2,000 Hyatt Points though those have not shown up even though the stay itself has posted.

Breakfast: Pretty good spread. Breakfast potatoes, bacon and scrambled eggs plus oatmeal and the usual cold items. Service there was good too and they had coffee out all morning

Overall the location of this hotel works well if you're working in downtown Dallas and arriving late at night. The price was right too and I'm willing to give them another shot. I do hope those bonus points show up though.
