$4000 spend at 2% gets you $80 cash and then $80 spend at Amazon (or anywhere else) gets you an additional $4 cash back. For a total of $84 in cash rewards.
This card blows now. As soon as I get my $350 reimbursement I’m calling to cancel.
I do not understand why you want to compare the 1x vs 2%? Why can't you spend the $4,000 on 3x? It has very broad 3x categories.
Then you just need to spend $1,333 to get 4,000 points. With your 2% card, it gets you only $26.67. If you add the 5%, it is just $28. $50 or $28, which is better?
I'm not saying this card has better earning. But the math above just does not make sense to me.
