Can you elaborate why you assumed I was referring specifically to the 3x category vs 2%? In other words, why did you assume the best case scenario? In reality, I was thinking of the 1x category because, again, The 3x category is ridiculous when I can get over 3% with my eyes closed using other cards. So no, the 3x vs 2% wouldn't even happen in my case.
My original post was to highlight that even when only needing another 1500pts to get a gift card, I am better off using my 2% and abandoning the 1500pts I already have.
