My understanding is that BA do not offer fast track there (one would assume for cost reasons?) so even if they had opened it, it probably wouldn't have helped!
Cheers wilsnunn, I did wonder about the fast track, but it all worked out in the end lol.
I ended up boarding with what I saw to be "Group 4" and ended sitting in the wrong seat 1F instead of 1A...lol. Luckily I realised in time and moved to 1A. Within minutes, the passenger for 1F arrived...later on in the flight, he ended up spilling his mini bottle of sparkling wine on the bloke next to him hahaha.
From when I sat down, it was another 15 mins when the doors were shut.
I see what you meant about the passport control. When I arrived, it was a max of 2 booths I noticed, the same applied to when I went to board, a max of 2 booths. Luckily, on both occasions I was right at the front of what was the start of a queue.
All in all, a good day and my mates (who think I'm crazy doing this flying stuff) were all "well done!!!"...I think they thought I was cutting it too fine and would end up missing the return flight.
Just for those reading and wondering what I'm talking about, I did LGW-BOD-LGW today with what I reckon was max 45 minute window to leave the plane and to re-board the plane for the return journey back to LGW. Tier Point run for 80TP = LGW-BOD-LGW @ £135.22 + 3000 Avios (£30 off original price £165.22).
Anyway, that's now a nice 80TP and will take me over 1000TP.
