19:20 touchdown
19:28 doors open
19:28 off the plane
19:31 cleared immigration
19:35 realised I took a longer route than necessary to reach departures
19:36 discovered that I am not eligible for fast track security
19:39 through security
19:40 having a quick Orangina in the lounge (a favourite from the summers spent in France during my childhood)
19:45 through passport control
19:50 in the boarding queue following a quick nip to the gents
19:51 in a queue on the jetbridge (HOT! A stark contrast from the freezing temperatures of those at Zurich yesterday)
19:55 greeted by the lovely cabin crew
19:56 sat in 4A
19:57 doors closed and an announcement from the captain that we will be waiting for 45-50 mins (doors closed 23 mins before takeoff time anyway)
20:08 update that our ATC slot is now in 10 mins so delay avoided
20:09 pushback
It was a nice and easy back to back, however, I am sure that if there was a queue at immigration/passport control going either way or security, then there would be less ease and a bit more worry.
I’ve just managed to do the above, and am now back on the plane around 30 mins after getting off.
However, the security queue in BOD departures was horrendous and with them not opening the fast track lane. Whilst stood in the queue, a member of security gathered up those going Gatwick and brought us forward and so I got through security PDQ.
All in all, it’s a tight-ish turnaround but I didn’t feel panicky or that I had to rush.
