It is hilarious to see so many people use this thread as an opportunity to spout off anti-union propaganda that has nothing to do with the situation at US Airways. Sure, the unions were recalcitrant in the last round of negotiations, but have any of you naysayers stopped to think about the fact that US' workgroups have agreed and or/capitulated to nearly EVERY management concessionary request since the late 1980s? US' workgroups have conceded, and conceded...and conceded again under successive CEOs. Frankly, I can't fully blame them for refusing to give any more - the grossly overpaid (as measured by performance relative to their peers in other industries) B-school types hired to run the place have run the airline into the ground with one half-baked business plan after another.
As an aside, it's interesting to see that some of the most anti-union folks on this thread have no problem in engaging in "unionism" (FFocus) with other FFers to air and resolve their grievances with US Airways/Dividend Miles policies.
