Wow how odd to be reminded of my one First Class experience as a young man also on a United 747 from HNL to LAX.

My dad was in the civil service and we were stationed in the Far East, I asked the ticket counter the amount to upgrade my flight to first and they said $75.00 and I took it even though I only had $200.00 to begin with goind stateside. Best money I ever spent!

I remember the best thing about the flight was that all kinds of snacks were in the galley and all throughout the movie I was able to munch on many different items. I don't even remember the meal service.

The UA 747 had a bar upstairs with a circular couch in the back from what I can remember and four swivel chairs.

It has never been the same after airline deregulation. Thanks for the thread and the memories.
