I was disturbed by the gate seat assignments I observed on my most recent DL flight. There were a lot of open C+ seats (midcon, IIRC 737-900) and also a lot of BE passengers getting seats from the GA. The app indicated that pairs of people traveling together (same first three letters of last name and next to each other on the list) were being given pairs of C+ seats together while some people who were higher on the list or seemed to have status were given middle seats in the rear. I was in FC, but to me this just looked so unfair.
