I recently booked a friend to stay at Grand Hyatt Melbourne using one of my award nights. I had told him about the Guest of Honor benefits. Upon check-in the agent insisted that he would not have club access, and would have to pay $90 for access. He literally had to argue for him to be given the benefits begrudgingly. Not a very Honorable experience.
Was it booked as a GOH award stay, or a regular points stay? Only a GOH booked award is eligible for benefits.
Some people have been confused, and think free night certificates, or normal awards booked from a Globalist account automatically qualify for GOH benefits.
