can i reserve the car until 2/28 at 10a "just in case" and not be re-rated if i return 2/27 at 5p?
both reservations are the same price, since i'm being charged for 3 days in both scenarios. would the calendar date of the return being different from what was reserved trigger the re-rate?
Yes, you can and should do that. Anything above 3 hours is charged the full daily rate. I always book in full 24 hour blocks in case my flight is delayed or canceled so I can keep the car, because I'm already paying for the full day.
(The only exception I know of is weekend discount coupons which usually require you to keep the car over a Saturday night, so if you return on Saturday you lose the rate.)
