EK really no longer tries to even pretend that their J is anything special, particularly when it comes to service which I often find to be little more than going through the motions. Also, having a middle seat even in their newest J cabins (3-class 77W) is pretty much unforgivable. The A380 is a little better but inferior to QR's seats.

QR is so much more polished overall, and the Qsuite is a nice bonus (especially when traveling in a group) but even their reverse herringbone is superior to the EK A380 J (let alone their 77W). Service tends to be much more consistent and caring. I tend to walk away from a QR flight having enjoyed it a lot more than EK.

I would only take EY if it represented thousands of dollars of savings.
