I know 'linking' reservations doesn't do much, but I had a not great agent when booking last week tell me there were no concerns having my two 5 year olds on a separate reservation as my wife and I since they would be linked. I knew of this issue, plus potential issues if I happen to get upgraded, leaving the two kids on a separate cabin on their own.
This agent also told me because I was using my wife's companion certificate , it had to be charged to her Amex. I politely asked her to try mine (Amex Plat) and she was surprised it went through.
