That is a different issue.
OP wants to know if he can obtain some form of status waiver as a customer service gesture when it is entirely possible to be rerouted so as to fly between origin & destination.
If, on the other hand, OP cancels because his employer requires it, that is a labor matter between OP and his employer.
I would point out that under the circumstances, an employer's decision in this regard is hardly unreasonable and that OP should expect to be quarantined at his first arrival point outside China on return.
