If you took a moment to read the thread you may find they aren't actually doing that. They are moving CE passengers up from the back of the CE cabin, reducing the CE cabin size, and then moving the curtain forward to increase the ET cabin size.
It's the same thing.
BA have done this to cut down compensation claims given there's likely more economy travelers than CE ones. BA could either have put on a larger aircraft or had another one world partner fly them back - both more expensive than stealing from CE pax. They decided to emotionally blackmail CE passengers into thinking BA were doing an emergency mercy mission out of the goodness of their heart. Get real people.
