Apparently the 6 star Marriott is on schedule to open this year. I've been visiting Hobart for 20 years and it is becoming a much more popular destination for well off travelers during the summer months with many hotels fully booked for the period. Car hire is also insanely expensive during these months if you can find any availability. Luckily Hobart is still relatively cheap outside of the peak months.
