For a domestic flight, lap child tickets are free and can be obtained at the airport.
Infants under the age of 2 traveling without a seat within the U.S., Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands do not require a ticket. .... When making your reservation, you should indicate that you are traveling with an infant, regardless of your destination.
The last part is not really needed but can be useful to do in seat selection -- at that point just need to mention there will be a lap child. Name and gender can be handled at the airport.
